The company was founded by George G. Mungai, a seasoned entrepreneur in Kenya and most notably one of the pioneers in vehicle importation business in East Africa through Gachewa Motors Limited. Soil Merchants Property Developers is a family-owned business with George G. Mungai as the Chairman, his wife Lucy Gacheru serving as the Marketing Director, their son Rufus Gacheru serving as Managing Director, Samuel Kanyoro serving as General Manager, and a dynamic team of investment
consultants.

The company has a long-standing reputation for excellence in the industry, with a track record of successful projects throughout the years notable among them, three-bedroom bungalow estates in Kitengela, Ngong, Kiserian, Kamulu and most recently Midtown Apartments in Parklands, Nairobi.
